… some of the best micropoetry from Twitter, kept alive in jars…

What is Jars of Stars?

“these beautiful words
that slip our fingers
and escape us
I keep them safe,

these jars of stars”

I have always felt a need to capture the beautiful micropoetry from Twitter. It is quite an undertaking however, with 1500+ haiku, senryu, tanka, and gogyohka tweeted daily. These stars I’ve captured in jars are the most beautiful works of micropoetry one man can reasonably capture, and are not all-inclusive. There are many stars on Twitter, both words and poets. Read them. Your eyes are empty jars. Fill them with your own stars, as I have.

Micropoetry on Twitter is not a journal of poetry, but a living, running stream of words that appear, change, then disappear daily. Put your jars in the stream, and before you know it, you will have your own jars of stars. Namasté. _/|\_

note: While I hope this never happens, any poet who does not want their work published here for whatever reason, please get a hold of either Jenny (@gennepher on Twitter) or myself (@CoyoteSings on Twitter), or send an email to jarsofstars at gmx dot com, and we will remove it.

  11. I started using twitter five days ago. At first I thought it noisy, foolish, and vain.

And then I saw someone had put up a little poem. I don’t remember who.

I did a search and found more. All these beautiful voices!

Today, I found this one. Gorgeous.
